We were thrilled when our work in a rural community near Bucharest was singled out in The Economist (www.economist.com/displaystory.cfm?story_id=11579339), as one of the few signs of hope in the profound problem of integrating the Roma into European society.

Other achievements of which we are also proud:

Helping a seven year old girl in an Ilfov village to enroll in school – after the principal had rejected her mother’s application, two years in a row, on the grounds that the first grade class could not hold more than 20 children. (This was not a community in which we normally operate, but our experienced staff was able to intervene quickly and effectively as a result of their familiarity with the laws and system.)
