Honk if you’ve seen our PSAs!

Have you seen our Public Service Announcements on TV? Or on the radio? On Bucharest subway screens? In Carrefour or in Rompetrol’s Hey cafes? Or in a bus in Iasi?

We used all of these media channels to spread our message about the importance of early education.

Please take 30 seconds  and let us know here when and where you saw it!

France Presse story gets global coverage

An excellent 3-minute TV story and article by France Presse was picked up by Le Point, one of France’s top newspapers, Yahoo! News

and many other publications throughout Europe and beyond (Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan etc.). Remarks by U.S. Ambassador Mark Gitenstein appear with those of a parent, social worker and school director. Click here to view the video in French and read the article in Le Point (French) or on Yahoo! News (English).

April: 87% attendance rate of our 1354 kids in gradinita
1172 kids attended daily and for that, their families receive
12 worth of food coupons = 14,064. This low cost, remarkably effective incentive works to get Romania’s poorest children in preschool and kindergarten. Today it is only possible due to individual and corporate support. Someday we hope the government will provide this incentive to all of Romania’s poorest children!

Fiecare Copil” gets a health boost
GlaxoSmithKline is sponsoring a three-year €150,000 grant for health and education in health projects in Romania, as well as in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Slovakia. The funds will make it possible for OvidiuRo’s communities to develop health projects tailored to the community’s needs. These projects will include promoting regular check-ups, vaccine monitoring, family planning and providing emergency medication and health education for children & parents.
