OvidiuRo launches, for the 3rd year in a row, “Povești sub Lupă” science module, through which some of the poorest schools and kindergartens in the country will receive 100 reading and science centers, with the support of Raiffeisen Bank Romania. The aim of this project is to inspire and attract future generations to research and innovation. HERE you will find the link to the registration form.
The project will create a network of 200 primary and preschool teachers who will participate in OvidiuRo training and share experiences, practices, and educational resources focused on vocabulary development, literacy, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics).
4,000 children will receive picture books to take home and also hey will participate in science-focused activities organized by their teachers. At the same time, 10,000 maps (with the flora and fauna of Romania) will be distributed in kindergartens and schools in vulnerable communities across the country.
„Povești sub Lupă” science module project was launched in 2018, with the support of Raiffeisen Bank, with the aim of building the necessary infrastructure for literature and science in poor rural communities. As a result of the success of this program, in 2019 we added to „Șotron” summer workshops a module of sciences and experiments – „Povești sub Lupă”. The project enjoyed a major impact, bringing many books and resources focused on experiments or mathematics to disadvantaged kindergartens and training teachers in STEM activities (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
So far, more than 6,000 children from disadvantaged communities have benefited from this program.
